International Missing Children’s Day is to encourage awareness about all the children still missing in Europe and around the world. In 2005, the first Relay For Life of Second Life (RFL of SL) was attended by a few hundred avatars and raised almost $5,000 US dollars for the American Cancer Society. In 2007, RFL of SL raised more than $118,000 US dollars. In 2009 the Relay For Life of Second Life raised over $250,000.00 US dollars and was attended by thousands of avatars.
